Weddings

Duane has been photographing weddings throughout central and northern Aroostook County and beyond since 1979. Our approach to wedding photography has always been to give the best possible coverage with the least interference. We offer several wedding packages from which to choose.

We like to start taking photographs of the bride and her bridesmaids about 1 1/2 hours before the ceremony. These photos are generally done at the church but we will start at whatever location the bride should choose. We try to get the groom and his groomsmen photographed before the ceremony as well. All weddings are different and we take as many photographs as time allows before the ceremony. Most couples do not want to see each other before the ceremony so we are quite limited on the amount of groups that can be done before the ceremony.

Ceremony photographs start with the ushering of the mothers, brides entrance, vows, ring exchange, candle ceremony, first kiss, and the newlyweds coming back down the aisle. Of course coverage will vary slightly from church to church, and ceremony to ceremony. We capture candid photos throughout the ceremony. If you have special photographs that you want during the ceremony, just ask, and we will get them.

After the ceremony and receiving line we start to do the group photographs. Grandparents, families, bridal party, etc. We end the photography at the church with a series of photographs of the couple varying from full length to close up in a variety of different poses. If a suitable outdoor area is available for photography we like to get a series of photographs done outdoors as well. When a couple books their wedding with us we go over all the details of exactly what groups the couple wants photographed.

On to the reception and normally the first photograph taken is the couple toasting. Other photographs at the reception include a series of the cake cutting ceremony, father & daughter dance, mother & son dance, bride & groom dance, bouquet & garter throwing, and parting photographs of the couple. We do not stay for the whole reception. We usually plan on being at the reception for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

The wedding album cd will be ready to be picked up at the studio 2 weeks after the ceremony.
